4: The Build

From plans to progress on site.

Construction site with exposed wood framing, a large window opening, and sunlight streaming in. On the floor, there are blueprints, a measuring tape, a safety helmet, and a rolled-up document.

With contracts signed and funding in place, construction begins. The Build is about coordination, accountability, and making sure your project is built as designed.

From site prep to inspections, here’s how construction moves forward.

4a. Site Prep & Mobilization

  • Contractors set up the site with safety, logistics, and staging in place.

  • Work is sequenced to flow smoothly from excavation to framing.

  • Temporary protection, utilities, and access managed upfront.

4b. On-Site Coordination

  • Questions and clarifications handled quickly to avoid delays.

  • Design details communicated clearly to the GC and subs.

  • Issues resolved before they snowball into costly changes.

4c. Inspections & Milestones

  • City inspectors sign off at key stages (foundation, framing, MEPs, finals).

  • Progress tracked against budget and schedule.

  • Homeowners kept in the loop with regular updates.

Why It Matters

The build phase is where small oversights can turn into big costs. By handling site setup, coordination, and inspections as one seamless process, you reduce stress and keep momentum. This step ensures that your design intent is protected all the way through construction.
